Looking to volunteer at our Summer Book Sale?
We are switching up our Summer Sale to celebrate our new location at the Citadel Mall. The Citadel has a room called The Reserve which is in the Belk store corridor. We are looking for volunteers for our inaugural Summer Citadel Book Sale. We are also doing something different regarding our member appreciation. Because we need to be open to the public, instead of Thursday being Member's Night we will be having Member Appreciation Day happening on Thursday where members will get a coupon based on their membership level to spend at the sale. We are very excited about this new opportunity,but we can not run our amazing book sales without you! We need volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include:
- Set Up (Unloading boxes from pallets and moving them to the correct tables for unpacking and unpacking boxes on to tables.
- Floor Assistance (organizing books during the book sale)
- Cashier (must be comfortable using electronic devices to take payments)
- Take Down (pack remaining books in boxes and move materials and boxes back to back of the house
- Managing the table for dealers
- Working at the Membership Table
Please fill out the information below to register to volunteer. If there is a specific job that you would like to do, please indicate it on your registration. Please understand that we will make every effort to accomodate requests, but the particular job you request may not be available. Once you submit this form, you are registered. We are a volunteer non-profit organization that relies heavily on our volunteers so for any reason you cannot make it, please cancel your slot within 24 hours of your start time. If you can not cancel your volunteer slot or need to do so within 24 hrs. of the sale, please contact us by email at director@charlestonlibraryfriends.org.
We would like to offer each volunteer a $6.00 coupon. The amount is equal to cost of a new hardback fiction book. The coupons are available one to a person, regardless of the number of shifts worked. Please note that the coupon must be used at the sale for which you volunteered and no partial credits are available. We recommend that you bring a closeable container of water with you and consider having a light sweater or jacket available as the room can sometimes feel cool. We do not provide water or snacks at our smaller sales due to limited space.
